:: About The Workshop ::
Thai bodywork is a therapeutic healing art that has been passed down for many generations in SE Asia. It is best known for its beautiful yoga-like stretches yet this modality offers so much more. Thai bodywork is one of the 5 main branches of Traditional Thai Medicine and has a rich cultural history that is woven into every aspect of the practice.
In this 3-day introductory course, we will:
- Explore the body through the lens of Traditional Thai Medicine
- Learn effective body mechanics while using our hands, feet, knees, and elbows to apply pressure
- Delve into the layers of the body according to Thai anatomy & physiology
- Learn Thai bodywork techniques that create spaciousness and movement throughout the body
- Experience daily practices performed by Thai healing arts practitioners
- Discuss the history and traditions that make this healing art unique

:: About Maylani ::
Maylani has been studying bodywork and traditional medicine systems since 2010 and has over 3,000 hours of formal training. Since completion of a 2-year Massage Therapy Program in Oregon, she has been traveling to Thailand regularly to study under Traditional Medicine Doctor & Herbal Pharmacologist, Homprang Chaleekanha M.S.. In 2015 she completed an apprenticeship with Homprang and had the honor of being an assistant teacher at her school, Baan Hom Samunphrai, in Northern Thailand.
Following her apprenticeship, Maylani moved back to Oregon and began her study of Thai Medical Theory at the Naga Center in Portland, OR. In 2016, she completed the Foundations Program of Clinical Herbalism and Ayurveda at The Hawthorn Institute in Williams, OR as well as the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. She has continued her study and practice of Thai Medicine and graduated from the Thai Specialist Program in July 2018.
Maylani offers bodywork, private yoga & teaches workshops out of her studios in Grants Pass, OR & Williams, OR.
She considers the health of our community and environment to be inseparable from personal health. She believes that access to self-care and wellness practices should be available to all people and works to break down any barriers that stand between. She offers self-care classes and sliding-scale bodywork to those in need.
